‎7/14/2011-Extreme Couponing Trip @ Kroger's

Bought $37.84 worth of groceries and ONLY paid $18.55 AFTER coupons! OVER 50% off! :)
Please Note: Would have been cheaper than that but Daren bought a half gallon of 1% milk for 89 cents, 4 half gallons of milk for 4/$5, Sunny D was 99 cents, and the 3 Pringles were 99 cents each and they were all w/out coupons BUT part of the Kroger Mega Event. If I would have only purchased the items I had WITH coupons, I would have only paid roughly $8 for about $30 of groceries.
I will be probably going back tomorrow because I found out afterwards that Brut Deodorant is 5/$5 and if I get a coupon for 50 cents off doubled, each deodorant before sales tax will be FREE. I also just got a 75 cents off coupon for Scotch Brite 3 pk. and that is on sale this week too.
What was cool is the M&M's were 2/$1 and I had a 75 cent off coupon which made it only a quarter for both candies. They were immediately consumed after the pic by Daren and I. We had to get our chocolate fix. ;)

Win an 11-day trip for 2 to Ireland for the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic!

Ok, this movie STILL makes me bawl like a baby whenever I see it on cable TV. I believe it is because it is a tragic true story and marks a time in our history.  My family and I were able to see the Titanic Museum last year in Pigeon Forge, TN. and it was very educational yet humble to see some actual remnants left behind by the people who lost their lives on the Titanic.  What does YOUR schedule look like April 2012?  YOU(and your significant other) may be one of the lucky winners to take an 11 day trip to IRELAND and be a part of the 100th year anniversary celebration of the Titanic!  All you have to do is click on this link and fill out the entry form.  You can place an entry once a day until the contest ends! CVS Update: Pantene Pro-V Shampoo and/or Conditioner

Word has it from some consumers that CVS today has coupon printouts from their printer for a coupon for $2 off when you buy any 2 Pantene products!  This week, CVS has a sale for Pantene Pro-V for 2 ECB's when you buy 2 Pantene Pro-V's for $6.96.
If you use the print-out coupon for $2 off and have a manufacturing coupon for $3 off 2 and you get 2 ECB's, then you are getting a FREE shampoo and conditioner! If you don't have a manufacturing Q, you would be paying $2.96 . That is still great seeing that each product is regularly priced at $3 plus per bottle.  And if you have any Extra Care Bucks hiding away, you could use those against the cost and get them free without the $3 Q. I am going to check in tomorrow to see if my Ellettsville CVS is printing those coupons out.  It also wouldn't hurt to see if I can get another Pringles freebie while I'm at it. Hubby LOVES the Pringles Grab and Go's! :)

Free Grab and Go Pringles at CVS this week

If you haven't took a couponing trip to CVS this week, you might want to fit it in your busy schedule!  For the last couple of days, I have went to the Extra Care coupon printer and have printed a coupon for $1 off Pringles Grab and Go(2.6 oz).  Great News! CVS has them on sale this week for only $1-so you know what THAT means, don't you?  It is FREE!  I printed a coupon out yesterday and today and went into CVS and got 2 Pringles Grab and Go's since I had 2 coupons. I got both of them FREE! Great way to stockpile your chips!  Please Note: As far as my Ellettsville CVS goes, these Grab and Go's are NOT in the chip aisle. They are in the 10 for $10 aisle by the pool stuff.  I was walking around the store searching until I asked the cashier and they 'showed me the way.'
A Tip for CVS Couponing Newbies: Make sure you scan your Extra Care Card MORE than once until the window says 'Sorry, no coupons available. Check back tomorrow.' I normally have to scan my card 2 or 3 times until I run out of coupons printing. More coupons for you means more savings!

Reasons to shop at Kmart this week

There are REASONS why you should shop at your local Kmart this week if you are wanting to build up your stockpile.  Now, if you know me, you are probably thinking, 'Yeah, she's just saying that because her boys work there.'  Nope, NOT the reason even though I'm sure the extra business helps their job security. LOL.
If you are needing to stockpile shampoo/conditioner or handsoap and need to do it NOW, the CHEAPEST way to do it this week is to shop at KMART.  Kroger has a sale starting this Thursday for VO5 Shampoo/Conditioner for 87 cents. BUT, if you go to KMART and you are a Shop Your Way Kmart Rewards Member, you can go in and get your coupon booklet at the front desk and get your VO5 Shampoo/Conditioner for ONLY .69 cents each!  That's even LOWER than the Dollar Tree!
Kroger ALSO has a sale starting this Thursday for 6-7.5 oz. Softsoaps for 5/$5. BUT, you can go to Kmart NOW and with your Shop Your Way Kmart Rewards card AND your coupon booklet, you can get that SAME Softsoap for .79 cents EACH. That's LESS than Kroger AND the Dollar Tree. So you see, there ARE reasons to drive down to your local Bedford or Bloomington Kmart and share the savings!

Dollar Tree NOW accepts manufacturer coupons!

It is indeed TRUE! Dollar Tree NOW accepts manufacturer coupons! Thank you Beth Staley for letting me know about it! :) I went this afternoon to the Bloomington Dollar Tree off of W. 3rd Street to get a couple of bubble mailers for my home business and when I went to checkout, I saw the sign: 'We NOW accept manufacturer coupons!' YAY!! :) You know what THIS means, don't you?  If you cannot find it any cheaper for a dollar and you have a manufacturer coupon, you can get it cheaper at Dollar Tree.
For instance, this week I will probably stop by there and get 2 Speed Stick deodorants for men for $1 each. With my .50 cent off coupon per item, I will be getting these deodorants for ONLY .50 each plus sales tax. (too bad they wouldn't let me print off more than two!) I went to Kroger earlier today to try to get them because I had an internet source tell me they were on sale for $1 and with a 50 cent coupon, I could get it doubled and get it FREE. Unfortunately, that source was WRONG.  I went over to the Speed Sticks and they were on sale for $2 each which means I would have paid $1 after coupon. That is why I am going to head over to the Dollar Tree and get it cheaper than THAT for only .50 cents each before sales tax. If YOU are lucky enough and are able to print off MORE than two coupons, let me know! I would love to hear about it! To get YOUR .50 cents off Speed Stick Deodorant printable coupons, click on this link(you will have to fill out a small form FIRST and then print the coupon): http://app.colgate.com/coupon/signup.cfm?oc=84026

UPDATE on the Speed Stick Deodorants: I just checked my Kroger flyer I got in the mail today and starting on Thursday 6/23rd, the Speed Sticks will be on sale for $1 each or 5/$5. So, if you have your 50 cent off coupons and Kroger DOUBLES them, you will get your Speed Sticks for FREE.  Kroger will double coupons .50 cents or LESS.  But BEWARE, last week, Kroger was supposed to have doubled my 50 cent coupons for Kool-aid and DIDN'T. I asked the manager WHY and she said 'corporate CHOOSES which coupons they want to double.' So, if it DOESN'T double, you are still getting them for .50 cents each not including sales tax. If you need the deodorants NOW, you can get them at Dollar Tree. Just thought I'd add that. I'd rather see you stock up your stockpile for FREE rather than pay out money you didn't have to. :)

Kroger Special-6/21/2011-Powerade ION4 or Powerade Zero

This morning, I printed out my Powerade Zero/ION4 coupon and took a trip to Kroger.  They are currently on sale for 10/$10.  The coupon says you can purchase 5-32 oz. bottles and receive $1.00 off.
WITH the coupon, you are ONLY paying $.87 each INCLUDING sales tax.  The bottles are BIG and it would take normally MORE than one person to drink a WHOLE bottle.  20 ounce bottles of soda are almost $2 each.  For .87 cents each for the Powerade, you are getting MORE drink for your money, LESS calories and more QUENCH for your thirst! To get YOUR $1.00 off 5 Powerades, click on this link HERE: http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?bt=vi&tqnm=yflrdyy52852210&o=87346&c=SV&p=1E709sai

Get your FREE Hand Sanitizer @ Kmart!

From NOW until July 11th, you can get a FREE 8 oz. pump of American Fare Hand Sanitizer at Kmart(you don't even pay sales tax).  How?  All you have to do is be a Shop Your Way Kmart Rewards Member, go to the customer service desk where they have the Shop Your Way Kmart Rewards Coupon Booklets, get your free coupon and checkout at the register.
Please Note: You MUST be a Shop Your Way Kmart Rewards member. If NOT, you need to sign up first before you get one.  It only takes a couple of minutes.   ALSO, the free hand sanitizer will NOT accrue you any Kmart Rewards points. In my opinion, it is not a big deal because you are getting the hand sanitizer free and not paying any sales tax. Only ONE free hand sanitizer a day w/coupon.  I am usually at my local Kmart nearly every day and already have five of them so far.

You ask..why do you need all of those hand sanitizers?  Well, we couponers like to bulk up for a rainy day. :) I can use them for my home office, in my bathrooms if hands are sticky, I always keep one at my desk at my other job, in the kitchen, etc.  There are MULTIPLE uses for hand sanitizers.  I even keep one in my purse if I eat out and there are not enough napkins around. Keep YOUR family germ-free and healthy TODAY!

Why the blog, Kathy?

Hey guys!  I bet you are probably wondering WHY I have started a blog on couponing?  I am going to share with you my reasons.  For the last week, I have been using other resources to find out where I can get my savings only to have quite a few letdowns as of late.  For instance, I was told by a certain website source lastnight that Kroger had their SpeedStick Men's Deodorant on sale for $1 and if I used my .50 printable coupon and get it doubled, I would get the deodorant for FREE.  I went in there today and went over to the deodorant aisle and found out my Kroger had it listed for $2.00. Which means if I would have purchased it and used my coupons, I would have still had to pay $1.00. As we all know, you can go to Dollar Tree and get that SAME deodorant for $1 without ANY coupons.  Thanks to one of my good friends, Beth Staley(which is an AWESOME couponer)told me that Dollar Tree NOW accepts manufactured coupons in which I verified that later on this afternoon. They really do!  So, I can go in there and with my coupon pay only 50 cents for the deodorant.  Just an example.  Because Kroger's vary regionally and other stores, it may not be the same for Bloomington or Bedford as it may be in Indianapolis or Louisville.  This is ONE reason why I have started a couponing blog! To help ANYONE that loves extreme couponing in Monroe, Lawrence, Greene, Owen, etc. SAVE MONEY and use their coupons in a BIG way!
Another reason is I know that a lot of you are starting out just like I am and it really is hard to know where to begin sometimes and there are ALOT of couponing blogs out there and ALOT of promos and freebies and samples EVERYWHERE. To save YOUR time and make your couponing SIMPLER, I am going to post EVERYTHING that I know is available for people like us in the Midwest and pull everything together in this ONE blog to make it easier for YOU so that you do NOT spend hours SEARCHING but COUPON CLIPPING! ;)
ANOTHER thing I have ran into is that a lot of coupon blogs I have checked out share deals on stores that we DON'T have such as Food Lion, Harris Teeters, etc.  I am going to share with you the store promos that we have HERE such as Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Kmart and Target and any where locally in Monroe, Lawrence and surrounding close by counties.
So, you have my reasons, and now I am going to post deals like CRAZY! Bookmark me in your favorites and I promise I will post my posts on Facebook and Twitter and will probably put up a Facebook page for Midwest Coupon Queen hopefully by this evening!  If you know of ANY savings or deals that I have NOT listed, PLEASE comment and share with us! I LOVE you guys that help me! You are awesome and my inspiration in changing my families lives and yours too! This is the Midwest Coupon Queen signing out! ;)
